It really scares me how fast summer came and went and holy hell we are on our way to September. Nevertheless, a new season calls for new fashion and a girl like moi loves a good reason to shop. Today I’m sharing four of my favourite looks for the season and some new outfit ideas. From mixing autumn tones to extending summer pieces, here’s your ultimate September style guide + a few tips on putting these outfits together:
After-Work Drinks: Vampy Copper Tones
Autumn is just around the corner and the thought of cozy knits and apple pie has me slightly jumping for joy inside. Start the transition to your fall wardrobe by incorporating fall colours and tones into lighter pieces. I’m obsessed with this coppery satin choker top for this season from Tobi. I’ve paired it with an edgy pair of black jeans for a sexier/vampy look appropriate for after-work drinks. To keep things cool, throw on an easy pair of chunky mules. I got these ones in Japan from a store I can’t pronounce but here’s a similar pair that I absolutely love too.
Date Night: Shades of Pink
Feeling ultra chic and feminine in this pink power combo! I love this baby pink silk top from Tobi paired with a loose wide leg pant. A chic pair of culottes that tie at the waist accentuates a lovely hourglass shape and also seamlessly connects the two shades of pink together. Keep the accessories simple with a strong coloured outfit like this–I went with simple nude shoes and a tiny baby pink purse from Viktor & Rolf. As the perfect get-up for a date night out, you can amp up the romance with a delicate detail such as a dutch braid pinned to the side of your hair. I also added a few Luxy hair extensions in my hair to get that gorgeous long mermaid hair to complete the look!
In the Office: Fall Fresh
Skip the boring blazer and get playful with your work outfits! Start with a professional base piece like this gorgeous khaki skirt (another piece I picked up in Japan–seriously Japanese fashion is the bomb! Here’s a similar one I love though) and add a playful yet work appropriate top. I adore this form fitting white tank top with a detailed neckline! Suede and khaki are textiles that compliment one another perfectly so accessories like a suede clutch and chunky sandals are a great way to add to this outfit. Choose warm and bright autumn accent colours including a ginger terracotta tone lipstick and you have yourself a fresh fall look that will certainly perk up any workspace.
Casual Weekend: Carefree
Stretch a summer dress into the beginning of fall with a black casual skater skirt like this one from Tobi. It’s easy to look effortlessly put together just by throwing on a cute and comfortable dress like this one–plus it’s so soft, it feels like I never left my bed! A casual little black dress like this can easily be dressed up with the right jewellery or toned down for casual brunch or a day at the winery with the right accessories. I’ve kept it chic with a classic black leather purse, black leather mules, and a cute striped hair bow. Keep in mind, the tiniest details like a gold watch and bracelet can really add to your outfit as well!
