Currently packing for my month long trip to Europe with my best friend and as I prepare, I thought I would share with you what’s on my list of suitcase and carry-on must-haves. Last year I travelled for 6 weeks in Asia and this year I’ll be backpacking around Europe! This guide is suitable for any type of trip or vacation whether it’s in the Bahamas with your fam jam or a quick road trip. If you’re planning a trip make sure you have these travel essentials on hand!
This palette is my favourite for travelling because it has everything you need in one compact spot. It includes neutral shades of eye shadow (the dark can be used as eyeliner), a bronzer/contour, a highlighter, and a blush. Saving room and time sounds good to me.
Always have a pack of tissues with you at all times! Oh the amount of times I’ve been to a public washroom that’s run out of toilet paper…No questions asked, this is a must-have.
When you’re on vacation you tend to be outside a lot more than you’d normally would be at home. No matter what colour your skin tone, sunscreen is so important for not only preventing burns and saving your skin from premature wrinkles and skin cancer!
These are lifesavers for the plane and if you end up having to sleep with someone who wakes up earlier then you and/or snores!
Whether you’re out and about and need a little freshen up, these facial wipes come in super handy! These cucumber ones are cooling, makeup removing, and perfect for sensitive skin. Use them at the airport too in between flights!
When you’re in a different environment than you’re used to, headaches, allergies, reactions and sensitivities to new foods and bug bites tend to happen. I always carry Tylenol, Tums, and Allergy medicine to conquer these vacation bummers.
When you’re on a trip you usually don’t want to spend much time on your hair. Dry shampoo is your best friend. Just spray some in, fluff, and go. I like having all natural hair while I’m on vacation and washing your hair every single day is just too much work!
It’s always a good idea to have a lock with you. Whether you’re sharing a room with strangers in a hostel or using a hotel pool, you won’t have to worry about your stuff being taken.
It can be tough to attempt to eat healthy on vacations when the availability of bread, wine, cheese, and fried food is endless. Boost your immune system and prevent getting sick on your trip with some vitamins, especially if you’re not a big veggie person.
Mini tooth paste, mini body lotions, mini deodorants, mini everything! I actually enjoy this part of packing.
You can pick these guys up from any drug store or off of Amazon for super cheap. Fill them up with your shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and facial cleanser to have your favourite brands with you but still be under airport rules of 100ml liquids in your carry-on. These bottles will also prevent a spill or leak disaster from happening in your bag.
I like to have a little notepad and pen with me on trips to write down any lists, thoughts, memories, or ideas as they come. You tend to want to take a break from technology and having a good old fashioned paper and pen can be refreshing. Perfect for the plane, beach, hammock, train rides, etc.
If you’re going to be taking lots of pictures or videos on your trip like I do , think about getting a good external hard drive to back up and store all those files. The worst thing ever is losing those priceless pictures and trust me, I’ve learned the hard way.
Am I missing anything? What are your travel essentials?
